2 min read

Second week of 2022/23 Mevza League ended today with last three games.
What a battle was the Croatian derby between HAOK Mladost Zagreb and MOK Mursa Osijek! The match lasted almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, and ended at tie break, with the home side who put down the ball of 22:20! Partially it was 19:25, 25:21, 22:25, 25:22 and, as already mentioned, 22:20! Ivan Zeljković and Clemens Ecker were the top scorer on the winning side with 19 and 17 points respectively while, about the losing side, Danilo Vuković put down 19 and Stanislav Lyzanets made 5 of his team’s 11 aces!
Our Thursday of matches continued with a four sets home win of Slovakia’s Rieker UJS Komárno over competition’s debutant VCA Amstetten NÖ from Austria (25:20, 24:26, 25:15, 26:24), still winless and with 0 points in the standings. Marek Gergely stood out on the winning side putting down 24 points, but the winners were better also in blocking, with 11 points from this element and from the service line, with 11 aces, too. Logan House with 20 points to his name was the most prolific player in Amstetten’s jersey.
Close the picture another win of leaders ACH Volley Ljubljana, who defeated OK Merkur Maribor in Slovenian derby by 3-0 (25:23, 25:16, 25:18). With this result, the team from country’s capital boast a perfect score and 15 points in the current charts.
