CWCH 2022: Perugia down Cruzeiro and finish at top of Pool A, Trentino to the top in Pool B

In a duel of the current leaders of respective national leagues, Italian SuperLega Credem Banca and Brazilian Superliga 1XBET Masculina Sir Safety Susa Perugia beat Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei by 3-1 (25:21, 25:21, 29:31, and 25:21) at the conclusion of the group stage of the 2022 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship in Betim (Brazil) and will face Itambé Minas (second in Pool B) in the semi-finals.
As a result, Perugia took first place in Pool A, and Cruzeiro took second place.
Cuban Jesús Herrera was the best scorer on the winning side with 20 points, while Argentine Sebastian Solé also contributed with 5 blocks. Wallace de Souza scored 10 points for the losing side.

On the other side of the bracket, Sada Cruzeiro will face Trentino Itas (No. 1 in Pool B), also from Italy.
Trentino had done the same as their fellow countrymen a few hours earlier. They trimmed a clear 0-3 (21:25, 23:25, 18:25) against Minas and closed their Pool B undefeated. It was a game without great difficulties for Angelo Lorenzetti’s side, who have always controlled the ambitions of the Belo Horizonte team. Daniele Lavia top-scored the most-titled team in the competition with 12 points through 73.33% attack (11/15), while teenage outside hitter Arthur Bento ’Arthur Buczmiejuk’ was the top scorer for Minas scoring 11 points through a nearly 70% attack (10/13).
