CWCH 2022: Perugia crown their first participation with title! Sada Cruzeiro third.

For the first time in the history of the competition, Trentino Itas failed to prevail in the final of the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship in which they took part.
And in Betim, Brazil, Sir Safety Susa Perugia won the title at the first attempt.

And this was Perugia’s second trophy of the season after the Italian Super Cup! They did it by beating their fellow countrymen Trentino, the most-titled club in the competition, who spoiled their perfect record of the final matches, which was five out of five. The game ended in four sets, partially 20:25, 25:23, 27:25 and 25:19.
Perugia went under several times during the match, and recovered several times during the exciting all-Italian clash in the Minas Gerais state. Exciting especially in the third set, when Trentino 18-14 up. However, once again, Perugia did a splendi comeback.

Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León was the most efficient player in Perugia scoring 17 points, while Ukrainian Oleh Plotnytskyi served 4 aces. Alessandro Michieletto scored 19 points for Trentino, including 4 aces and Daniele Lavia made 4 blocks.

In a duel for third place between two brazilian sides, Sada Cruzeiro down Minas after an intense 1-3 (31:29, 24:26, 21:25, 19:25).
