CWCH 2022: Trento destroy Sada Cruzeiro in a duel between two most-titled clubs in competition to take the final against Perugia

Itas Trentino have wrecked the defending champion Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei in Betim, Brazil, and will play their sixth FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship title in the final against their fellow countrymen Sir Safety Susa Perugia.

With an almost perfect performance, the Italian side eliminated the titleholders and also hosts in the semi-finals of the edition 2022. Angelo Lorenzetti’s guys dominated the first set, controlled the second, and outclassed the rivals in the third set of a match played without major problems. Partially it was 25:13, 25:22 and 25:17.
Alessandro Michieletto led Trentino with 16 points including 4 aces through a 78.57% attack (11/14), while Wallace de Soza and Miguel Ángel López scored 10 each on the other side of the net.
Interestingly, Trento have returned to Italy with the gold medal every time they’ve come to the duel for the title, and this was the case from 2009 to 2012 and in 2018 when it won their fifth and for now last title!

During the European night, Sir Safety Susa Perugia repeated Trentino’s result (3-0, partially 25:19, 25:19 and 25:17) silencing any ambitions of Itambé Minas, the last Brazilian side still in contention, and qualifying for the final act of the tournament.
The Pole Kamil Semeniuk top-scored the winning side with 15 points, including 4 aces.
