CEV Cup: no upsets in second legs of 1/8 finals! Here are all teams qualified for next stage!

After Jihostroj České Budejovice, who claimed yesterday first ticket avaible for 2022/23 CEV Cup quarterfinals, we know all the other names of the teams who joined the Czech side.
Piacenza and Modena prevail in big Turkish-Italian face-offs to book their respective quarter-final tickets.
Bluenergy Daiko Volley Piacenza beat Fenerbahçe HDI İstanbul again in four sets, also on the road (25:22,23:25, 24:26, 19:25). Lorenzo Bernardi’s team struggled for three sets to get the better of a very combative opponent who offered a performance of great substance at home court, despite the absence due to injury of the starting setter, the former captain of the national team of Iran Saeid Marouf. The SuperLega side, after losing the first set 25-22, won the second and third sets by 25-23 and 26-24 before dominating in the fourth in which both coaches made a big use of the backup players.
Cuban-Brazilian Yoandy Leal was one of the rare players to stay on the court the whole match, and end with 19 points, while Edorado Caneschi made 4 blocks. Kaan Gürbüz scored 14 points in three sets for Efelerligi’s side. Piacenza will face Romania’s C.S. Arcada Galați, who knockoud out Finland’s Savo Volley Kuopio (3-1 and 3-1)
Round of 16 featured another big Italian-Turkish face-off: Valsa Group Modena eliminated Arkas İzmir and flew to the next round of the second most important European club competition.
Andrea Giani’s guys dominated rivals in all three sets: after winning the first leg with a clear 3-0 away, they prevailed in the first two sets of the return match played in front of their own crowd at the PalaPanini and mathematically conquered the pass. And then, they also closed the game, 25:19, 25:16 and 25:15. Tommaso Rinaldi was the most prolific player on the winning side with 11 points, while Giovanni Sanguinetti also contributed with 4 aces.

Modena’s opponents in the top 8 will be Germany’s SVG Lüneburg who got the better of the Dutch side Lycurgus Groningen (3-2 and 3-0).
Quarterfinals also for Polish powerhouse PGE Skra BEŁCHATÓW, who defeat at home France’s Narbonne Volley 3-2 (25:19, 22:25, 22:25, 25:20, 15:11), Romania’s C.S. Arcada Galati, who down Savo Volley Kuopio by 3-1 (25:15, 28:30, 25:18, 25:21) with 18 points by Daniel Malescha, 63% in attack and 3 of his side’s 13 winning blocks, Turkey’s Galatasaray HDI Sigorta Istanbul, 0-3 (14:25, 22:25, 22:25) in Switzerland, on the field of Chênois Geneve, and Belgium’s Greenyard Maaseik, who eliminated Chênois’ compatriots Lindaren Volley Amriswil with the same result (25:15, 25:14, 25:17), with 24 points through 65% in attack by Jolan Cox.
