CEV Cup: Lüneburg defeat Modena at tie break! Maaseik take first step towards quarterfinals

The other two games of 2022/23 CEV Cup Playoffs first leg were played today.
Germany’s SVG Lüneburg stun italian powerhouse Valsa Group Modena by beating them at tie break (25:19, 26:28, 28:26, 18:25, 17:15) in front of their home fans.
In what was a very hot game, the winners were led in score by Jordan Ewert and Lukas Maase, who ended the game as top scorers with 20 points each, the first including 4 of his team’s 13 winning blocks, while Turkish opposite Adis Lagumdzija grounded 27 for Modena (including 5 winning blocks of Modena’s 8).
Home win also for Belgium Greenyard Maaseik, who down Jihostroj Ceske Budejovice from Czech Republic by 3-1 (25:22, 20:25, 25:17, 25:22), with 12 winning blocks (4 by top scorer Adam Bartoš, who ended the game with 18 points).
