Austria: they did it! Amstetten defeat untouchable leaders Hypo Tirol at tie break! 3 points for Aich/Dob and Weiz

What a day in Round 15 of Austrian Bundesliga, that starts today with first three games.

Absolute leaders and so-far undefeated Hypo Tirol suffered their first stop of the season, and they fall after 115 minutes of play in the Johann-Pölz-Halle, where VCA Amstetten defeated the Innsbruck side at tie break (25:22, 15:25, 25:21, 19:25, 15:13). New head coach Harry Brokking made his amazing debut for Amstetten and, due to the home win, they are the first pursuers of HYPO TIROL, at least until Wednesday evening. Theoretically, only TSV Sparkasse Hartberg can displace Innsbruck from first place.

SK Zadruga Aich/Dob (3rd) didn’t gave any chances in the Carinthian derby against last-placed VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt and achieved a clear 3-0 (25:20, 25:15, 25:17) home win. Newcomer Russian opposite Jurii Kruzhkov made his debut for the hosts, and he made 8 points.
3 points also for VBC TLC Weiz, who celebrated a 3-1 (25:12, 27:29, 25:21, 25:22) away win against UVC Holding Graz in the Raiffeisen Sportpark. For the hosts, the defeat in the Steirer Derby meant a setback in the duel for seventh place, as they are now four points behind today’s rivals, led today by Lorenz Rössl and Kazar Dodic, who scored 22 and 19 points respectively.
