Poland: Round 24 is over – Aluron back to 2nd place. Bełchatów ko again, last-placed Bielsko-Biała defeat Katowice

Round 24 of 2022/23 Plusliga has been completed today with last three games.

Open the day a clear straight sets win of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie who, after a phase with lot of ups and downs, down PSG Stal Nysa in just over an hour, partially 25:19, 25:17 and 25:15.
With this result, taking advantage on yesterday’s defeat of Jastrzębski Węgiel thanks to Projekt Warszawa, Aluron back to second place in the current standings at +1 (and -3 from leaders, Resovia, who won the advance on Thursday).
Dawid Konarski with 13 points through 57% in attack, 4 winning blocks and 1 ace ended the game as top scorer, while Serb Uroš Kovacevic and Bartosz Kwolek also contributed with 12 each, the same number of points scored by Wassim Ben Tara, the only played on the losing side in double digit.

Not a good moment for PGE Skra Bełchatów, who suffered their fourth defeat in a row counting all competition, including the one on CEV Cup quarterfonals, on Wednesday. This time they suffered a home defeat at home against Cuprum Lubin, 2-3 (25:18, 25:21, 23:25, 23:25, 17:19), even wasting a 2-0 lead in sets. Top scorer of the match Adam Lorenc was named MVP scoring 26 points through 55% in attack including 2 aces and 1 winning block, while Paweł Pietraszko also contributed with 6 of his team’s 14 winning blocks.

Close the picture another tie break, won by newcomers and last-placed BBTS Bielsko-Biała on the field of now No.12 GKS Katowice – 2-3 (18:25, 25:22, 25:27, 25:23, 10:15).
A match won also thanks to 14 winning blocks (7 by Mateusz Zawalski), 8 aces and 25 points by top scorer Jake Harnes.
