Italy: Taranto defeat Siena at tie break. Postponed the verdict of who will remain in Superlega!

Round 20 or, if you prefer, Round 9 of Second Leg of 2022/23 Superlega CredemBanca started today with a very interesting clash, decisive for the hard-fought fight to avoid relegation, between Gioiella Prisma Taranto and Emma Villas Aubay Siena.
Prior to this game, both sides shared last placed in the charts with 14 points.

It was supposed to be a great battle. And it was, as the hosts Taranto needed five sets to down the rivals – 3-2 (25:15, 23:25, 25:22, 23:25, 15:10)
After a first set easily won by Taranto, Siena managed to recover and to rebalance the match.
However, this is a result not particularly significant for the standings: the winners, waiting for tomorrow’s games, level the score with Padova, who will face Monza tomorrow (both sides have now 16 points), while Siena (who have to recover the home game against titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova), are chasing at -1.

Very important the contribute of Greek outsite hitter Charalampos, who replaced Loeppky during the game, but the men of the match were Antonov, MVP with 20 points, most of them in the decisive moments of the game, and again a spectacular Lawani, who ended as top scorer with 29.
