Coppa Italia: an AMAZING Piacenza defeat Trento in straight sets to lift the trophy for first time in club history

Yes…they did it!
The Del Monte Coppa Italia 2022/23, Italian Cup, falling into the hands of an incredible Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza who, after eliminating the super favorite Perugia yesterday in semifinal, completed their job with a clear straight sets win also against Itas Trentino, partially 25:22, 25:17 and 25:23.

And they did it for the first time in club’s history, with two absolutely perfect performances in this thrilling final four.
Head coach Massimo Botti, at the end of the first clash had declared that they had no message to give to the championship.
However, the field proved the opposite as this Piacenza, his Piacenza, is now really scary!
Also because now the big names arrived last summer, Leal, Lucarelli and Simon, are really making a difference showing all their talent and experience, together with a great setter, Brizard.
Without forgetting the contribution of World Champion Romanó, a talent in italian volleyball.

Decisive, for the winners, also Simon (4 blocks), Brizard (3 aces) and Lucarelli, above all in first set, closed with 6 points, 1 block and 62% in attack.

For Trento the cup, in recent times, remains bewitched after the successes in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and the finals lost in 2015, 2016, 2017 and now also 2023.
