Italy: Lube destroy Siena in recovery of Round 19

In the same weekend of 2022/23 Del Monte Coppa Italia Final Four in Rome, a match valid as recovery of Round 8 of second leg of SuperLega CredemBanca regular season or, if you prefer, Round 19, has been played today between last-placed Emma Villas Aubay Siena and Cucine Lube Civitanova (a team eliminated from Italian Cup by Allianz Milano, defeated today by Trento in semifinals).

This game, initially scheduled on Sunday, February 12, had been postponed as a precaution due to a slight earthquake that had hit the city of Siena.
The hosts, able to remain into the game only in third set, suffered the third defeat in a row after Modena and Taranto, in the decisive clash to avoid relegation.
The team from Civitanova, on the other hand, celebrated third win in a row after Cisterna and Piacenza.

Decisive the 16 points scored by Zaytsev, MVP and top scorer of tue game, also able to surpass the 4000 personal points in Lega Volley’s competition, but important also the 9 points from Nikolov and Bottolo, who started the game from the bench. On the other side of the net the best was Van Garderen, unable to reopen the game, but author of a good performance on the field.
