After two advances played yesterday and on Thursday in which Trefl Gdansk (1-3 on the field of Katowice) and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (1-3 on the field of Stal Nysa) earned three points, Round 28 of 2022/23 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
In the first one, a great Luk Lublin defeat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki by 3-1 (25:21, 25:23, 29:31, 25:16).
Great above all because they were able to close the game in fourth set with a clear 25-16, after losing third set overtime and thus rejecting the attempt of the rivals to extend the game at tie break.
The winners were led in score by MVP Mateusz Malinowski, their top scorer with 23 points through 65% in attack, and 3 aces, while Bartosz Filipiak scored 28 points for Suwałki (4 blocks, 1 ace and 56% in attack).
In the evening Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie down Barkom Każany Lwów with the same result (25:14, 25:13, 17:25, 25:15) to take the second place in the standings at -2 from leaders Resovia, and temporarily at +2 from Jastrzębski Węgiel, who will face tomorrow PGE Skra Bełchatów.
Dawid Dulski and Bartosz Kwolek were the most prolific players on the winning side with 18 and 17 points each, the latter including 4 of his team’s 11 aces, while Vasyl Tupchii ended the game as top scorer with 24 points through 53% in attack, including 4 aces and 3 blocks for Barkom, who remain at 13th place in the standings.
