Champions League: two polish sides won first legs of semifinals! Halkbank and Perugia ko

The Semifinals of 2022/23 Champions League started today with first leg games, in which both Polish teams smile: Jastrzebski Wegiel won in four sets on the field of Halkbank Ankara, while Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn-Kozle, better known in world of volleyball as ZAKSA, defeated italian powerhouse Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia with the same result.

Jastrzebski reached this part of the competition for the fourth time, but they have never progressed to the final. And now, finally, they are in a good position to do so following a 1-3 away win (22:25, 23:25, 25:16, 22:25).
MVP of the match was Tomasz Fornal with 18 points for the winners, while Halkbank suffered the bad day of bomber Nimir Abdel Aziz, who ended the game with 10 points but only with 34% in attack, 4 blocked and 2 errors.
The re-match will be held in Poland next Wednesday.

A true volleyball spectacle was delivered in the game beween Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn-Kozle and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia.
Zaksa managed to take 3-1 win (25:18, 24:26, 25:19, 25:22) and are now, like their compatriots, one step closer to the Superfinals in Turin.
The winning streak of Perugia has therefore come to an end. Again, and now in all competitions, after Italian Cup, Italian Superlega and now also in Champions League!
Up until this match, Perugia and Jastrzebski were the only two teams who have won all of their Champions League matches this season, and now only the Poles stays with their streak!
MVP of the match Bartosz Bednorz, who scored 23 points and played with 59% in attack, while Wilfredo Leon was the most prolific player on the losing side with 17.
