Germany: Berlin celebrate 13th title. Friedrichshafen defeated in four sets!

Berlin Recycling Volleys is 2022/23 Champion of Germany, after defeating VfB Friedrichshafen with the score of 3-1 (25:28, 25:18, 16:25, 27:25) in decisive Game 3 of the best-of-five series, after the 3-1 of Game 1 and the 0-3 on the field of the rivals in Game 2.
For the team from country’s capital this success count as a national “triplete” together with German Cup and Super Cup. This was also the 7th title in a row and the 13th in club’s history, the same of VfB Friedrichshafen.
The final act has been played at a Max-Schmeling-Halle in front of 8.553 volleyball fans.
Head coach Cedric Enard says good bye to his public in the best possible way: 5 titles in as many season for him, and, at the end of the game, took the microphone repeating “Fantastique, fantastique”.
But he also thanked everyone, adding that it has been a fantastic 5 years for him and his family, but also for everyone who has worked behind the scenes.
Absolute protagonist was Hannes Tille: 3 MVP awards in as many finals. From backup of captain Angel Trinidad, he took his place and never left the field, in a spectacular excalation that, eventually made him a key player.
And also this game started with two his aces!
On the field VfB Friedrichshafen, after losing first 2 sets both 25:18, without Vincic and with Birnat as setter managed to win third set 25-16.
But the team reached the final of the season very tired.
The hosts in fourth set had to chase until canceling two points to avoid a possibile tie break, closing set and game 27-25.
Berlin thus can celebrate, and the team has shown constant growth, but starting next week it will already be time to plan for the future with a new staff led by Joel Banks.
