Both Czech Championships closed this 2022/23 season with two historical results: titles for LVI Praha, for men, and VK Kralovo Pole, for women.
About the team from country’s capital, this is the first title

The success of LVI Praha came in Final Game 4, after the rivals, Jihostroj Äeske Budejovice, won first Game of the series in straight sets, but losing the next two 3-0 and 3-1. The decisive game ended in four sets too (25:21, 25:16, 23:25, 25:21), despite the desperate attempt to re-open the game of the visiting side, but who fought omly
until the 21-19 of fourth set.
The best player of the Championship was Canadian middle blocker Fynnian McCarthy, but absolute protagonist of the success is the performance in blocking, with as many as 17 points against the 8 of Jihostroj.
Even fiercer the battle in Final Series for women, with 5 Games and first 3 solved only at tie break.
VK Selmy Brno seemed close to the victory after a straight sets win in Game 4 but, in front of their home fans, was Kralovo Pole to celebrate the title thanks to another 3-0 (27:25, 32:30, 25:18) victory after two sets ended overtime.
