Poland: 3rd place to Resovia – Aluron defeated in Game 5

The long series to assign the Bronze
Medal in 2022/23 Plusliga came into an ened tonight with decisive Game 5 between regular season leaders Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and No.2 Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, both eliminated in semifinals.
In what was the game that officially close the season, the hosts celebrated a 3-0 (25:23, 25:13, 25:21) win led, once again, by USA National Team member Torey Defalco, almost perfect today with 17 points to his name, 1 ace, 3 winning blocks and an impressive 87% in attack (13/15, without errors or blocked).
Maciej Muzaj also contributed with 16, while Uroš Kovacevic was the only player on the losing side in double digit, with 13 points and 52% in attack. Below expectations Konarski and libero Danani.
Decisive for Resovia also outside hitter Tomasz Piotrowski, on the field in place of a bad Cebulj.

Interestingly, this game was basically the penultimate event among the elite championships on a global level: the club season will be closed tomorrow in Italy, with final Game 5 between Itas Trentino and Cucine Lube Civitanova!
