European Silver League: Latvia first finalist! Cyprus stun Hungary in first leg

First verdict in 2023 European Silver League: after a clear win on the field of the rivals on Saturday, Latvia down Austria again with the same score, 3-0 (25:19, 25:21, 25:23), also in second leg in front of their home fans, with 11 winning blocks (compared to Austria’s 7) and a better performance in attack (51% to 44%). Michael Czerwinski was the top scorer of the match with 16 points with Austria’s jersey, while Renars Jansons scored 13 including 3 winning blocks for the winners.

Latvia will face in final the winners between Cyprus and Hungary.
In first leg played today the first defeated at home the rivals by 3-1 (25:22, 22:25, 25:23, 25:21), despite the 29 points from Kristof Horváth (4 blocks, 2 aces and 48% in attack). Four players reached a double digit on the winning side: Odysseas Savvides had 20, all in attack, through 48%, followed by Kanaris Michael with 17 and Constantinos Skordis and Marios Stroukarevits with 11 each.
The decisive second leg is scheduled on Saturday in Hungary.
