Austria: Aich/Dob, Graz and Waldviertel won away without losing a single set!

In the three games played on Saturday games of Powerfusion Austrian Volley League, all away teams celebrated straight sets victories.
To open the day the Carinthian derby in which last season runner-up SK Zadruga Aich/Dob won 3-0 (25:18, 26:24, 25:20) on the field of last-placed VBK WĂśrther-See-LĂśwen Klagenfurt after 80 minutes of play, UVC Holding Graz prevailed against UVC McDonaldâs Ried in the Raiffeisen Volleydome (25:19, 25:17, 25:22) while Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel also did not lose a single set on the field of VBC TLC Weiz (25:19, 25:18, 25:18).
After a weak start, Aich/Dob now has three wins and is back in touch with the top half of the charts. Top scorers at Sportpark Klagenfurt were Camino (14), Kristof Horvath (12) and Angelos Mandilaris (11). No player for the losing side reached a double digit and top scorers were Simon FrĂźhbauer (9), Michael Klemen and Ben Stockhammer (8 each).
A week ago, the Graz team suffered their first defeat in the derby against the league leaders from Hartberg, but today they already back to the victories, led by Lorenz RĂśssl (15), Arwin Kopschar (14) and Johannes Kratz (8). The winners moved into second place ahead of the defending champion HYPO TIROL volleyball team, which was not playing in the league this weekend because of second round of 2023/23 CEV Champions League in Serbia.
Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel has now the same number of points with Innsbruck, but they played two more games. The 2022 champions confirmed their good form with a confident win at Weiz. Best scorers for fourth place were Krzysztof Gulak (12), Mateusz Sniezek (11) and Aidan Saladana (10), and for Weiz Michael Ladner (15), Ulve Steidl (10) and Max Kremer (9).
On Sunday, three semi-final tickets will be awarded in the Austrian Volley Cup Men. Second division side PSVBG Salzburg players will play against TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg at 3:30 p.m. while, for the second time this season, TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob (2 p.m.) will face each others. A month ago, the Carinthians celebrated a narrow home victory in the second round of regular season. Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel will face VCA Amstetten NĂ at their the Zwettl town hall at 5 p.m. The last semi-final ticket will be awarded on November 15th in the duel between UVC McDonald’s Ried and defending champion HYPO TIROL volleyball team.
