Austrian Cup: Aich/Dob, Hartberg and Waldviertel first quarterfinalists!

Waiting for the game between UVC McDonald’s Ried and defending champions HYPO TIROL Volleyballteam, who failed their qualification in Pool stage of 2023/24 CEV Champions League today in Serbia, we know the name of first three semifinalists of 2023/24 Austrian Cup.
SK Zadruga Aich/Dob secured the first semi-final ticket with a 3-1 (22:25, 25:17, 25:16, 25:19) win on the field of TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien. Three players scored double figures for the guests, Angelos Mandilaris (13), Kristof Horvath and Bryan Camino with 11 each while, for the home team, the most prolific players were Stefan Mayerhofer (10), Aaron Reiss and Boris Nikolic who added seven points apiece. Prediction respected also in the second game of the day in which Current Powerfusion Volley League leaders TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg destroyed second division PSVBG Salzburg, recording an easy 3-0 (25:16, 25:13, 25:12) away win.
Top scorers at the Rif sports center were Lukas Glatz (16), Richard Hensel (12) and Dmytro Fedorenko (9) for the winners, and for Salzburg Stefan Rehrl (9), Michael Kessler (5) and Paul Sernow (4).
Close the picture Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel, who lived up to their role as favorite in the Lower Austria derby against VCA Amstetten NÖ, winning 3-1 (27:25, 18:25, 25:21, 25:20) in their Stadthalle Zwettl. Top scorers for the winners were Krzysztof Gulak (18), Mateusz Sniezek (12) and Jan Berggren (9), and Samuel Jackman (31), Kirill Krasnevski (12) and Maximilian Schober (10) for Amstetten.

The last game is scheduled on Wednesday.
