Champions League: Day 2 of second round. All results

Second Round of 2023/24 CEV Champions League continued today with other four matches of Pool V and Pool VI.
In the first game of the day at SC Master Zemun, Serbia, Guaguas Las Palmas from Spain easily defeated Austria’s Hypo Tirol Volleyball Team with the score of 3-0 (25:16, 25:23, 25:19). Better in all elements, above all in blocking (12 to 4) and in attack (57% to 38%), the winners were led in score by Paolo Zonca (16 points, 5 blocks, 2 aces and 53% in attack), while Luan Weber, the only player in double digit for the Innsbruck side, scored 15 points.
In second match of the Pool, second defeat in as many games for Montenegro’s Budva, this time against the hosts Partizan Beograd, who close the game with the score of 1-3 (21:25, 22:25, 25:18, 22:25), with 27 points from top scorer
Milija Mrdak (53% in attack, 3 winning blocks and 1 ace).
In Pool VI at Sports Hall Galati, Romania, the hosts C.S. Arcada Galati celebrated a straight sets win over Bulgaria’s Neftohimik Burgas, 0-3 (20:25, 25:27, 16:25) with 13 points from Theo Lopes and 10 from Marian Bala.
Victory also for Greece’s Olympiacos Piraeus over Ukraine’s SC “Prometey” DNIPRO, 1-3 (22:25, 25:21, 14:25, 21:25). Arcada Galati and Olympiacos will face each others tomorrow
for the first place in the Pool.
