Italy: Trento win advance of Round 4 and temporarily fly to the top!

In the advance of Round 4 of Italian SuperLega Credem Banca, Itas Trentino triumphed over Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in four sets, (26:24, 25:19, 16:25, 25:18), in a win that propelled the winners to the top of the standings and breaking Piacenza’s winning streak.

Itas Trentino delivered a very good performance, particularly in blocking and serving, led by setter Riccardo Sbertoli, who was awarded with MVP title for the second game in a row, after the previous game in Verona.
The team demonstrated a good control, winning the first set and effectively stopping a comeback attempt by the rivals in the third set. Decisive contributions came from Alessandro Michieletto, who scored 18 points, and Kamil Rychlicki, who added 16, successfully countering the efforts of Piacenza’s Lucarelli, top scorer on the losing side with 16 points, Recine (15) and Simon (14).
After the game, head coach of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza Andrea Anastasi expressed his disappointment and the need for focus and tranquility as they prepare for upcoming challenges.

The regular season will continue with upcoming matches on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
