Poland: Round 7 starts today! 3 points for Resovia, leaders Warzawa and newcomers Częstochowa, who down Bełchatów!

Round 7 of 2023/24 Plusliga started today with first three scheduled games, and in which all three winners secured 3 points.
The first one was very fast, and the hosts Asseco Resovia Rzeszów literally destroyed Indykpol AZS Olsztyn in a clean 3-0, partially 25:19, 25:17 and 25:20.
Better in all elements, and leading the game from start to finish, the winners made the difference above all from the service line scoring 11 aces, 5 only from top scorer Torey Defalco (12 points, 2 winning blocks but only 33% in attack with 5 points on 15 attempts, blocked once).
MVP of the game middle blocker Jakub Kochanowski with 10 points, 1 ace too, 1 block and a super 80% in attack (8/10), well supported by Stephen Boyer (11 points through 53% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block).
The day continued with now leaders Projekt Warszawa who won on the field of Trefl Gdańsk with the score of 0-3 (24:26, 23:25, 19:25).
Leaders with 20 points at least until tomorrow, when Jastrzębski Węgiel, 18 points in the current charts, will face Barkom Każany Lwów away!
It was a hard-fought game, above all in first two sets, as in third the team from country’s capital hit hard to close the game after 99 minutes of play. MVP of the game a perfect Yurii Semeniuk, author of 8 points, 3 winning blocks and 100% in attack (5/5). Decisive, as always, also Bartłomiej Bołądź with 13 points through 57% in attack while top scorer of the match was Kewin Sasak in Gdańsk’s jersey (18 points, 1 ace, 1 block and 52% in attack).
Close the picture the big upset of the day as newcomers Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa earned 3 points too after beating 3-1 (23:25, 27:25, 25:23, 25:19) a big name of Polish (and European) volleyball: PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów!
Surely not a good start for the powerhouse, now relegated at 14th place in the standings with only 4 points, while also today’s rivals surpassed them (12th place and 6 points). MVP of the match Byron Keturakis with 11 points to his name through 57% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 5 of his team’s 7 aces, while Dawid Dulski put down 21 points, just like Dawid Konarski in Bełchatów’s jersey.
Plusliga will continue tomorrow with other three games of this Round 6.
