Italy: Perugia down Piacenza at tie break in big match of Round 6, Civitanova destroy Modena. Milano, Cisterna and Trento ok

After the advance played yesterday in which Pallavolo Padova won the Veneto derby against Rana Verona by 3-1, Round 6 of Superlega CredemBanca has been closed today with 2 big matches played and 5 teams with 7 points in the standings!

After two yers, the Civitanova side managed to win at iconic PalaPanini against a rival penalized by injuries, without starting libero Federici and opposite Pinali, and starting opposite Sapozhkov only on the bench, replaced by Davyskiba (top scorer with 21 points) and despite the almost 4600 home fans!
MVP of the game a super Fabio Balaso, while Adis Lagumdzija was the most prolific player among the winners with 17 points to his name, including the one that closed first set, well supported by Aleksander Nikolov who also contributed with 13. (PHOTOGALLERY OF THE MATCH).
The day continues with a great show at Perugia’s PalaBarton, in which the hosts Sir Susa Vim Perugia managed to down Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza after an exciting 3-2 (21:25, 20:25, 25:18, 26:24, 20:18) in a clash for second place.
The hosts had to recover from a 0-2 deficit in sets, and in the two sets won Piacenza was unstoppable in attack. However, from the third set the match changed and Perugia start to play with Herrera on the field instead of Ben Tara. The fourth one is closed overtime thanks to a winning block from Flavio while the decisive one was nail-biting, closed once again in blocking, with two points in a row from MVP SolĂŠ, who closed the game with 11 points to his name and 4 winning blocks, all decisive in crucial phase of the match. Double digit also for Semeniuk (19), Herrera (16), Plotnytskyi (14) and Flavio (10). On the losing side, Leal scored 24 points followed by Gironi with 18 and Simon with 15.
Another defeat for newcomers Farmitalia Catania, who fought, won the first set, but eventually collapsed with the score of 1-3 (25:20, 22:25, 22:25, 21:25) against a resilient Allianz Milano, led by MVP Yuki Ishikawa, who now boast 7 points in the standings together with Pallavolo Padova, Valsa Group Modena, Rana Verona and Cisterna Volley, who today celebrated a thrilling home win against Gioiella Prisma Taranto, that has been solved only at 17-15 of the fifth set (25:27, 20:25, 25:18, 25:13, 17:15). Theo Faure was once again top scorer for Cisterna, closely followed by MVP Pavle Peric, who also contributed with 18.
Close the picture the clash between Itas Trentino and Vero Volley Monza, ended 3-1 (19:25, 25:22, 25:23, 25:23) in favor of the hosts, led by a great Kamil Rychlicki, top scorer and MVP with 24 points to his name through an impressive 73% in attack including one ace and one block, supported by Alessandro Michieletto, who closed third and fourth sets with an attack in both occasions on 24-23, and scored 22 points through 56%, with 2 blocks and 1 ace.
