Austrian Cup: Hartberg second finalist! Defending Champions Hypo Tirol eliminated in four sets!

Austrian Volley Cup Men’s final on February 24th will be played between TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob.
The Styrians celebrated a great 3-1 (16:25, 25:20, 25:23, 25:13) home win against defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team and also inflicted to them their first defeat of the season in the last game before the Christmas break!
HYPO TIROL lived up to their role as favorite only in the first set and into the very start of the second one, with a 5-0.
However the hosts equalized the score at 10-10 and to take shortly the lead throughout the game and, after 48 minutes, they also equalized in their full-packed Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle for the occasion.
Hartberg took the momentum into the third set and gained seven points lead taking advantage from the rivals’ errors (15:8).
However HYPO TIROL found their way to back into the game and even managed to equalize, but nothing to do, as Hartberg managed to put down the decisive two points.
The hosts then scored kept the lead also in fourth set, and Richard Hensel close the game at the second match point after 103 minutes of intense play.
Hartberg therefore has the chance to win their third Cup title, the first one since 2013!
Top scorers were Lukas Glatz, Đorđe Knezevic (13 each) and Maximilian Steinböck (9) for the winners, and Luan Weber (21), Arthur Nath (14) and Niklas Kronthaler (10) for Hypo Tirol.
Finals will be on February 24th in Hartberg!
