Austria: Aich/Dob destroy Graz in Game 1 of Quarterfinals. Klagenfurt ok in relegation Round

No.4 in the standings SK Zadruga Aich/Dob celebrated a convincing 3-0 (25:20, 25:17, 25:19) away win in their first Powerfusion Volley League quarter-final duel against No.5 UVC Holding Graz on Sunday evening, and It was last season runner-up’s fourth win this week!
In fact, between Tuesday and Thursday they already celebrated three successes in the MEVZA League and the consequent place in the final four.
Aich/Dob top scorers in the Raiffeisen Sportpark were Angelos Mandilaris with 16 points and Kristof Horvath who added 10 while, among the hosts, only Arwin Kopschar with 11 points reached a double digit.
On Saturday, TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg had already presented away against TJ Sokol V/Post SV and, surprisingly, UVC McDonald’s Ried down in their Volleydome Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel.
On February 25th, VCA Amstetten NÖ will face defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball in their first playoff duel.
All quarterfinal series (best-of-3) will be completed on the first weekend in March.
The title decisions in the Austrian Volley Cup will take place next Saturday in Hartberg. The women’s final will be TI-Schuh-Staudinger-volley – ATSC Kelag Wildcats Klagenfurt at 5.30 p.m., while the men’s final between Hartberg and Aich/Dob will start at 8.15 p.m.).
In the Powerfusion VL Relegation Round, Oberbank STEELVOLLEYS Linz-Steg won against VC Hausmannstätten 3-0 (25:19, 26:24, 25:19) yesterday while, today, VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt lived up to their role as favorites in a duel with UNIONvolleys Bisamberg-Hollabrunn with a clean 3-0 win, partially 25:17, 25:14 and 25:14.
