Austria: Hartberg trampled over Waldviertel in Game 2 of semifinals (and the other games of the day)

TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg is very close to Powerfusion Austrian Volley League final series, as head coach Markus Hirczy’s team won also the second semi-final duel with Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel in just three sets, prevailing 25:21, 25:17, 25:13 in Zwettl on Saturday evening.
Hartberg is still missing a win, and on Wednesday there will be the first opportunity to close the best-of-five series in front of their home fans.
Top scorer of the day were Đorđe Knezevic (19) and Lukas Glatz (13) for the winners, and Yaroslav Horobets ( 12) and (12) Jan Berggren (7) for Waldviertel.

In the first playoff duel for places five to eight, UVC McDonald’s Ried suffered a home defeat against TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien, 2-3 (28:30, 20:25, 25:14, 25:17, 7:15) in their Raiffeisen Volleydome.
The second leg will take place in the Posthalle in a week.
The winners will play against VCA Amstetten NÖ or UVC Holding Graz, who will face each others on Wednesday for fifth place and thus a European Cup ticket.

About relegation round, there were three home wins today: undefeated VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt beat Oberbank STEELVOLLEYS Linz-Steg 3-1 (21:25, 25:23, 25:20, 25:18), and so they can already planning for the upcoming Powerfusion VL season.
Their first pursuer is SPORTUNION z+p St. Pölten, who gave VC Hausmannstätten no chance with a clear 3-0 (25:18, 25:21, 25:21) win. After initial difficulties against UNIONvolleys Bisamberg-Hollabrunn, also VBC TLC Weiz showed no weakness and celebrated a 3-1 (23:25, 25:14, 25:19, 25:8) home win.
Now St. Pölten and Weiz are fighting each other for the last ticket for 2024/25 Bundesliga.
