Austria: Hartberg first finalist! Match point for defending champions Hypo Tirol. Graz ok in series for 5th place

The first 2023/24 Powerfusion Austrian Volley League finalist is TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg, after beating Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel 3-0 (25:23, 25:20, 25:16) in their home soil on Wednesday evening.
And they didn’t drop a single set in three semi-final duels against this rival!
On the other “best-of-5” series between defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob, titleholders lead the score by 2-1 after today’s home win in four sets (21:25, 25:20, 26:24, 15:18). Decisive the third set, in which the guests wasted a 20:16 lead. Game 4, and a possible match point for the Innsbruck side, will take place on Saturday in the JUFA Arena Bleiburg.

But another game was played on Wednesday in the playoff round for 5th/8th places and a consequent ticket for Europe. UVC Holding Graz lived up to their role as favorite against VCA Amstetten NÖ, beating the Mostviertler by 3-1 (25:21, 22:25, 25:19, 25:14) on the road, and second leg will take place on Saturday. The winner of this duel will face the winner between TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien and UVC McDonald’s Ried, with the team from country’s capital victorious at tie break in first leg.
