Austria: Defending Champions Hypo Tirol win Game 1 of Final vs. Hartberg

Defending champion HYPO TIROL volleyball team narrowly won Game 1 of 2023/24 Powerfusion VL Men final best-of-seven series on Wednesday evening by beating TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg 3-2 (25:18, 25:20, 17:25, 19:25, 15:7) in their USI hall. Game 2 takes place on Sunday evening.
The eleven-time Austrian champions started the game in a perfect way against the final debutant, showing a great performance in all element, above all in attack and in blocking, to easily win first two sets.
However, after the 5-13, the guests managed to react, reopening the tame until 2-2, even if, eventually, regular season winners were able to close the game, taking at first a clear 8-4 lead and, after almost two hours of play, an error in attack from Hartberg ended the first duel of Final.
Top scorers for the winnes were Luan Weber (20) and Niklas Kronthaler (18), and for Hartberg Lukas Glatz (17) and Đorđe Knezevic (13).
