Italy: Monza win Game 2 vs. Perugia and equalize Final series!

Mint Vero Volley Monza equalize the score in 2023/24 Superlega CredemBanca Playoffs Final against Sir Susa Vim Perugia, in a sold out Monza’s Opiquad Arena.
The players around head coach Eccheli staged a comeback from 1-2 and managed to close the game at tie break, 3-2 (25:20, 23:25, 21:25, 25:19, 15:11).
After a first set won by the hosts, Perugia reacted, led by a recovered Wilfredo Leon managing to close second set with the minimum gap with a block from Flavio for the 23-25, and also third one, closed by a block from Simone Giannelli for the 18-23, an attack with the signature of Kamil Semeniuk, and another from Wassim Ben Tara, for the decisive 21-25.
However Perugia lack continuity, suffering the play of the hosts, able to close fourth set with 2 points in a row from Ran Takahaski, 25-19.
In fifth set Monza tried to escape, 8-5, Leon managed to equalize, 9-9, but then the game is over for Perugia, who stop to play and the hosts can celebrate thanks to a couple of the rivals’ fatal errors and the final point again from Takahashi.
MVP of the game Stephen Maar, who left the court as top scorer with 28 points through 68% in attack and 4 winning blocks, but double digit also for Ran Takahashi and Erik Loeppky, with 14 and 13 respectively.
For Perugia Wilfredo Leon, on the field from the middle of first set, tallied 24 through an impressive 76%
in attack, followed by Wassim Ben Tara with 20 through 58% in attack and Kamil Semeniuk (10).
And now a crucial Game 3, scheduled on Thursday, April 25 starting from 6pm Local Time.
