Italy: Milano make history – 3rd place in Superlega and Champions League!

Defending champions and Champions League finalists Itas Trentino’s playoff campaign is over in Game 4 of Final for 3rd Place.
And with a disappointed fourth place in regular season (but a prestigious ticket for 2024/25 CEV Cup.
However, players around head coach Fabio Soli still have a chance to say good bye to elite european competition playing the gran finale on May 5 in Antalya, Türkiye, against Polish powerhouse Jastrzębski Węgiel.
Milano, on the other hand, make history!
After first two games of best-of-five final series both ended at tie break in favor of the home team, they collected an impressive straight sets win in Game 3 in Trento, and today also in decisive Game 4, winning the game with the score of 3-1 (25:21, 18:25, 25:20, 25:21).
With a clear win in second set, after losing the first one, the
visiting side suffered Milano’s play, despite a hard fight les by Jan Kozamernik (5 winning blocks of his team’s 11) and Alessandro Michieletto (best scorer with 19 points to his name).
Once again, Japanese superstar Yuki Ishikawa was the man of the match with 28 points (20 only in last two sets), and a well-deserved MVP award.
