Italy: Perugia take a step towards title! Monza defeated in four sets

Sir Susa Vim Perugia take a 2-1 lead in the SuperLega Credem Banca Finals after defeating Mint Vero Volley Monza 3-1 (25:15, 25:18, 24:26, 25:19) in Game 3.
The match, held at a full-packed PalaBarton, in front of 4986 volleyball fans (a new record for Perugia), saw two almost perfect sets played by the hosts, in which they literally destroyed Monza.
However, starting from third set, Monza reacted, finding their rhythm and taking advantage from the hosts’ some kind of mental break, led by Eric Loeppky and Ran Takahashi, and wearing a groove with an ace from Stephen Maar.
And then, in decisive fourth sets, Perugia start again with Kamil Semeniuk and Wassim Ben Tara.
Captain Wilfredo Leon enters for Oleh Plotntytskyi, and he is decisive from the service line for the final gap: from 19-17 to 23-17.
To close the game is Ben Tara himself, eventually named MVP of the match with 20 points to his name and 4 winning blocks. Double digit also for Oleh Plotnytskyi and Kamil Semeniuk, who also contributed with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
17 points also from middle-blockers: Roberto Russo left the court with 9 points through 88% in attack, one more than Flavio, with 8 punti including 5 blocks.
Either way Perugia won the clash in several elements, above all from the service line, with 9 aces to 5, in attack (57% to 45%) and in blocking (10 to 5).
Decive also Leon who, when we play, put down 6 points with 4/4 in attack and 2 aces.
The series now moves back to Monza for crucial Game 4 this Sunday, starting from 6pm local time.
