Turkey: all results of a Round 20 without major upsets and changes in the standings

Round 20 of 2024/25 SMS Grup Efeler Ligi delivered thrilling action, in top games, absolute leaders Ziraat Bankkart securing another dominant win, while Arkas Spor down Galatasaray HDI Sigorta.
Ziraat continued their perfect form with a 0-3 sweep on the field of Rams Global Cizre Bld. 0-3 (18:25, 21:25, 15:25). This victory strengthens their position on the top spot now at +11 from their closest pursuers Halkbank, who easily down Türşad also in straight sets, 3-0 (25:22, 25:22, 25:16).
Dick Kooy was the most prolific player with 14 points, and stated: “If we keep playing like this, we can continue winning.”
Fenerbahçe Medicana dominated On Hotels Alanya Bld., also winning 3-0 (25:17, 25:17, 25:23), led by Kaan Gürbüz, top scorer with 16 points and and Yiğit Gülmezoğlu, who added 12, in their 12th seasonal victory.
The biggest surprise of the week, however, came from Arkas Spor, who defeated a heavily reinforced Galatasaray HDI Sigorta by 3-1 (25:23, 25:27, 25:16, 25:19).
The visiting side struggled to find their rhythm, while veteran star György Grozer delivered a stellar performance, scoring 28 points through 53% attack, 3 aces and 4 blocks to lead his team to a well-deserved victory. On the losing side, Jean Patry scored 22 points.
Head coach Glenn Hoag once again proved his tactical brilliance, keeping Arkas competitive despite limited resources.
Three pointa and straight sets wins also for newcomers Istanbul Gençlik Spor, over last-palced Akkuş Belediyesi, 3-1 (25:22, 19:25, 25:19, 27:25), and for Spor Toto, on the field of Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor, 1-3 (30:28, 19:25, 13:25, 22:25).
