Italy: Piacenza first semifinalist! Verona defeated in just three games!

No.5 in 2024/25 Superlega CredemBanca regular season Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza take down fourth-placed Rana Verona 1-3 (25:16, 17:25, 20:25, 19:25) in Game 3 of quarterfinals to become first team to advance to Semifinals!
In front of a roaring, sold-out crowd at Verona’s AGSM Forum, they pulled off a powerful comeback after losing first set in which the hosts fired on all cylinders.
With bomber Noumory Keita leading the charge with 21 points to his name and Francesco Sani who followed him with 13 points at the end of the match, Verona grabbed an early lead, able to take the control.
But Piacenza had other plans and, led by an inspired Yuri Romanò, who tallied 14 points including two aces, a block and MVP award, destroyed the rivals in the second set and, from that point on, they never looked back.
Robertlandy Simon was also decisive at the net with 12 points, Efe Mandiraci and Stephen Maar added 17 and 15, respectively.
With this win, Piacenza clinches the series 3-0 and now waits to face either Itas Trentino or Cisterna Volley in the Semifinals, while Verona will back to the court for the Playoffs for 5th Place.
