Italy: also Perugia to semifinals, Civitanova and Trento lead in their playoff quarterfinals series

In the intense Games 3 of 2024/25 SuperLega Credem Banca Playoffs quarterfinals, Sir Susa Vim Perugia secured a spot in the semifinals, while Itas Trentino and Cucine Lube Civitanova took 2-1 leads in their respective series.
Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza also completed their sweep over Rana Verona on Saturday.
At PalaBarton, Perugia secured semifinal spot with a 3-1 (25:17, 25:22, 18:25, 25:22) win over Valsa Group Modena, with Agustin Loser who earned MVP honors with 12 points through 67% attack efficiency. Oleh Plotnytskyi also contributed with 16 points, helping Perugia to close the series 3-0.
After back-to-back losses, Itas Trentino bounced back in front of 3,800 home fans to beat Cisterna Volley 3-1 (25:17, 25:16, 23:25, 25:21), led by MVP Daniele Lavia with his 19 points points to his name, well supported by Alessandro Michieletto’s 20. Trento now leads the series 2-1 and can close it on the road in Game 4.
Cucine Lube Civitanova continued their home dominance with their 18th win in 19 home matches, defeating Allianz Milano 3-1 (25:23, 25:22, 21:25, 25:19), with 22 points from MVP Alex Nikolov, while Petar Dirlic’s 8 points off the bench proved to be decisive too. The series now shifts to Milan with Civitanova ahead 2-1.
Next matches are scheduled for Wednesday, where Trento and Civitanova will try to seal their semifinal spots.
