Italy: Trento dominate Game 1 of final with a convincing 3-0 win over Civitanova

Itas Trentino take early lead in 2024/25 SuperLega CredemBanca playoff Finals against Cucine Lube Civitanova, and they did it in front of a roaring home crowd of 4,000 fans at ilT Quotidiano Arena.
The hosts secured a 3-0 (25:20, 25:23, 25:21) win in best-of-five series, displaying dominance starting from the first serve.
The first set saw Trento, led by Alessandro Michieletto, who scored 7 points just in this part of the game, overpower Civitanova despite strong resistance from Adis Lagumdzija while, in the hard-fought second set, Gabi Garcia’s decisive attack clinched the 25-23 win for the home team, while the rivals struggled with costly errors.
The third set followed a similar pattern, with Trento keeping the upper hand until the end.

Michieletto hiself, who also earned MVP honors, delivered a great performance with 20 points to his name including 1 ace, 4 blocks, and 54% in attack.
At the end of the game he emphasized the team’s preparation and focus: “We gave everything on the court. It’s just Game 1, and we know it will get tougher.”

Meanwhile, Fabio Balaso from Civitanova remained optimistic: “We must reset and come back stronger in Game 2.”

Either way, Trento now lead the series 1-0, and Game 2 is set for Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at 6:15 PM (CET) at the Eurosuole Forum.
