Poland: 3 points for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów in delayed matches of 2025/26 Round 1

First Round of 2025/26 PlusLiga has been completed today with last two games.
In delayed matches closing out the opening round of the competition, both Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów recorded strong away wins, for both first seasonal successes!
In first game of the day, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle fell 1–3 (22:25, 25:20, 24:26, 23:25) to Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, who rebounded impressively from their loss to Projekt Warszawa in previous round.
Bartosz Kwolek led the charge scoring 20 points and also earning MVP honors for his all-around performance, including two aces and a block, while Kamil Rychlicki led ZAKSA’s offense with 25 points, with Igor Grobelny and Karol Urbanowicz who added solid support. Despite ZAKSA excelled in blocking, scoring 8 points from this element compared to the rivals’ 4, the winners’ powerful serves (12–6 in aces) made the difference.
In the evening, Bełchatów swept Cuprum Stilon Gorzów in straight sets, also on the road, with the score of 0-3 (22:25, 17:25, 26:28), and It was their first win of the season, while Gorzów suffered their second consecutive defeat after an earlier tie-break loss to newcomers Chełm.
Bartłomiej Lemański earned the MVP award with his 13 points through 62% attack efficiency and five blocks, well supported by Daniel Chitigoi and Arkadiusz Żakieta, who added 13 each, Despite not registering a single ace, the winners dominance at the net with 11–3 in blocks. Chizoba Neves Atu was Gorzów’s top scorer with 13 points.
Plusliga will continue on Friday, October 31, with the advance of Round 3 between Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Energa Trefl Gdańsk.
