Italy: Verona sweep Milano in Game 4 to reach a historic semifinal!

After losing first two games of best-of-five quarterfinal series, and a desperate attempt to re-open the story winning game 3 on the road, nothing to do for Allianz Milano, who suffered a heavy defeat in front of their home fans in decisive Game 4 against Rana Verona, losing the game with a clean 0-3 (21:25, 23:25, 20:25).
The game was balanced, above all in first two sets, with the visiting side able to capitalize in key moments, while in third one Verona dominated, led by Noumory Keita, top scorer of the match with 18 points to his name, Darlan who added 13 and captain Rok Mozic also in double digit with 11. However, it was libero Matteo Staforini who earned MVP honors. Among the hosts, who suffered the bad day of their bomber Ferre Reggers, Tommaso Ichino and Tatsunori Otsuka scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Verona will join already qualified to semifinals Sir Susa Scai Perugia and will face Cucine Lube Civitanova in next stage of the competition.
Tomorrow Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza will welcome Valsa Group Modena at their PalaBanca, with the chance to close their series after an amazing four sets win at PalaPanini last Tuesday!
