After a straight sets home win of Sir Susa Scai Perugia in Game 1 last Thursday, and an exciting Game 2 in Civitanova that saw Perugia ahead 2-0 in the best-of-five series, 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca Final continued today with another thrilling battle at a very hot full-packed PalaBarton
The visiting side, just like Game 2, started strong showing great composure and winning first set closed by a decisive Mattia Bottolo from the serve’s line, author of the ace of 23-24, and a counterattack from Aleksandar Nikolov, 25-27.
Civitanova continued to push the hosts’ to the limit, putting down the ball of 14-18 with an ace from Eric Loeppky and also the one of 14-20. Error at serve from Agustin Loser, who replaced injured Sebastian Solé, forced to leave the court at the very beginning of this second set, and 21-24 for Civitanova. The set is over? Absolutely not, as the great reaction of Perugia reopen the set, then closed overtime again, 26-24, by a great point from Kamil Semeniuk.
And the Perugia never looked back, claiming the third National title after 2017/18 and 2023/24, under the command of a great head coach, Angelo Lorenzetti. For him this was the sixth title after Modena 2001/02, Piacenza 2008/09, Modena 2015/16, Trento 2022/23 Perugia 2023/24 and Perugia 2025/26.
Another great protagonist of the success was libero Massimo Colaci in what was his last game in Superlega, and he will officially close his glorious career with 2025/26 CEV Champions League Final Four. With Perugia’s jersey, he won everything: 2 titles, Champions
League, Club World Championship, Italian Cups and Italian Supercups.
On Game 3, Wassim Ben Tara led the charge once again with 18 points to his name through 65% in attack and 3 of the winners’ 7 aces, while Oleh Plotnytskyi and Kamil Semeniuk added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
On the other side of the net Aleksandar Nikolov topped all scorers winning a set by himself, tallying 25 points, all in attack, through 56%.
But for Perugia the season is not over yet as they’ll face Champions of Türkiye Ziraat Bankkart in second semifinal of Champions League in Turin.
