Italian Superlega side Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza’s season has come to an end with the historic triumph in the CEV Cup, won with a double straight sets win against Germany’s SVG Lüneburg. Looking ahead to the 2026/2027 season, four players have already said goodbye to the club: captain Robertlandy Simon, Robbert Andringa, Luca Loreti, and Daniel Iyegbekedo.

After four seasons, the paths of Robertlandy Simon and Piacenza part ways. The middle blocker was a protagonist of the club’s rise, which over the years found the right balance between young talents and experienced players. The Cuban joined Gas Sales after his successes with Lube Civitanova, immediately bringing a winning mentality, charisma, and a leadership role. His consistently high-level performances in blocking, attacking, and serving was decisive to help the team to win the Italian Cup in 2023 and the CEV Cup this season.
Now, a new adventure awaits Simon in Indonesia and then, in 2026/27, he will wear the jersey of Allianz Milano.

Robbert Andringa joined Piacenza in 2023 after his experience in Poland, more precisely Indykpol AZS Olsztyn.
The Dutch outside hitter played a key role in the team’s stability, while Luca Loreti, came up through the club’s youth system and made his SuperLega debut with Gas Sales in the 2024/2025 season after standing out in Serie A2 with Santa Croce. The club placed its trust in the young libero, born in 2005, and he did not disappoint, showing rapid development. He will continue his career probably in Sir Susa Scai Perugia, or Rana Verona, according to our (verified) sources.
Daniel Iyegbekedo also joined Piacenza at a young age, arriving in 2025 at just 18 years old. After one season with the club, the French middle blocker, born in 2007, is now leaving the team.

New faces? There is the name of U.S. young middle blocker Merrick McHenry, last two season in France with the jersey of Nice Volley Ball, this season finalist in French Cup, and since several months the one of Manuel Zlatanov, currently in Serie A2 with Ravenna.

Always about middleblockers, there are already the confirmations of Gianluca Galassi, Joris Seddik and Francesco Comparoni, confirmed also both setters Paolo Porro and Dragan Travica, and opposites Alessandro Bovolenta and Henry Leon, together with coaches Dante Boninfante and Samuele Papi.
