European League 2026: Day 2 completed with all winners who earned three points!

After 9 games played yesterday, 2026 CEV Volleyball European League continued today with other 9.
To open volleyball Saturday were three straight sets win from Estonia, Greece and Portugal in their respective games.
In Slovakia, after dominating first set, Estonia struggled more than expected against a combative Albania, eventually winning the match with the score of 0-3 (17:25, 23:25, 26:28), prevailing after 92 minutes of play, with 14 points from Renee Teppan, 12 from Märt Tammeauru and 10 (including 5 winning blocks) from Alex Saaremaa, who led the winners to their second straight sets win after the one against Slovakia. To lead Albania’s offense Anton Qafarena, top scorer of the match with 16 points, 2 blocks 1 ace but only 35% in attack.
In Sweden, straight sets also for Greece who, after losing at tie break against the hosts yesterday, sweep modest Azebaijan 0-3 (20:25, 22:25, 7:25) with 16 points from Angelos Markou (44% in attack, 2 aces and 2 of his team’s 11 winning blocks) and 14 from Charalampos Andreopoulos.
After losing their opener against Denmark, Portugal sweep Iceland 0-3 (19:25, 18:25, 13:25) with 11 aces and 16 points from Andre Pereira (59% in attack and 3 aces).
Predictions respected also in the game played in Riga, where Romania literally destroyed modest Kosovo 0-3 (19:25, 18:25, 14:25) while in Spain Switzerland sweep Bosnia&Herzegovina with the same result, 0-3 (21:25, 23:25, 19:25), led by Julian Weisigk, top scorer of the match with 12 points through 63% in attack, together with Lars Migge and Joel Hauck, also in double digit with 11 and 10, respectively.
Straight sets win also for The Netherlands over Luxembourg, 0-3 (17:25, 22:25, 16:25), after just 77 minutes of play with another great performance from Sil Meijs, who left the court with 20 points through 70% in attack, 3 blocks and 1 ace, and the same did Israel, who sweep Georgia without major problem 0-3 (14:25, 17:25, 15:25) led again by an excellent Shay Liberman, top scorer of the match with 16 points, an impressive 73% in attack, 1 block and 4 of his team’s 11 aces. Mark Rura added 14 and 4 aces too.

The other two games ended in four sets.
In Hungary, Czech Republic needed four sets to prevail over Norway, 1-3 (25:23, 19:25, 14:25, 18:25), and they did it after losing first set with 25 points from Marek Sotola (56% in attack, 5 blocks and 1 ace), and 13 winning blocks compared to the rivals’ 5 while, in Austria, Finland prevailed over Montenegro 1-3 (15:25, 25:20, 18:25, 16:25) too with 13 winning blocks and 20 points from Luka Marttila (64% in attack and 4 of his team’s 5 aces).
