Italy: Perugia officially signs Ferre Reggers after three season in Milano

3 min read

As widely anticipated a few weeks ago also in our official Official World Transfers 2026/27 list, Ferre Reggers is the new opposite hitter of Sir Susa Vim Perugia.

The young Belgian player, born in 2003, will form Perugia’s attacking diagonal alongside captain Simone Giannelli after spending three consecutive seasons with Allianz Powervolley Milano.

How does he describe Perugia’s call?
As an honour.

I can only say that for me it has been, and always will be, an honour. I could never have imagined playing for Perugia. It has always been my dream to play for a team like this, especially at my age. Secretly, as a child, I always dreamed of playing for the national team and for Perugia.

He then spoke about his own qualities as a player:
I think, physically, I have a very good vertical jump and I’m very quick and explosive for someone who is over two metres tall. I also make good contact with the ball, which allows me to hit sharp cross-court angles effectively. There’s still work to do on my serve, but I’m sure we’ll work on that a lot with Lorenzetti.

His mentality is clear:
I always want to win. I think that’s normal for an athlete, and that’s why I believe I’m in the right place at Perugia.

During his three seasons in the Italian league with Milano, Reggers added a Challenge Cup title to his trophy cabinet, winning it last April after defeating Belgian side Aalst in two matches, both won in straight sets, while also earning the MVP award.

But if he had to name one particular dream, he would have no doubts:
Simple: the Champions League! I’ve had the chance to play in it twice, but I’ve never come close to winning it. I imagine it must be an incredible feeling.

Over his three seasons in Milan, he faced Perugia no fewer than 11 times across the regular season, the Playoffs, and the Coppa Italia semifinal played in Bologna on 27 January 2024. Now, he cannot wait to wear the Sir shirt himself, especially because of the fans.

It’s definitely better to have them on your side than against you. There are always so many of them, even at away matches, so I can’t wait to have the Block Devils supporting me!
