Polish Volleyball League (PLS) and TAURON Polska Energia have announced a landmark extension of their partnership, signing a new sponsorship agreement that will run through at least the end of the 2029/30 season. The deal represents the largest sponsorship commitment ever made by a single partner in the history of Polish professional volleyball.
The renewed agreement significantly expands a collaboration that began in 2020, with TAURON becoming the leading commercial partner across virtually every major domestic volleyball competition in Poland. The move reflects the continued growth of Polish volleyball, whose leagues are now widely regarded among the strongest and most prestigious in the world, attracting elite international players, record-breaking attendances, and steadily increasing television audiences.
Beginning with the upcoming 2026/27 season, all four of Polandâs top professional leagues will compete under the TAURON brand:
⢠TAURON Liga â formerly PlusLiga, the menâs top division.
⢠TAURON Liga Women â formerly TAURON Liga, the womenâs top division.
⢠TAURON 1. Liga â formerly PLS 1. Liga, the menâs second division.
⢠TAURON 1. Liga Women â formerly the Womenâs 1. Liga, the womenâs second division.
The companyâs naming rights will also continue to include the TAURON Polish Cup for both menâs and womenâs competitions, while TAURON will serve as the Strategic Sponsor of the Polish Super Cup matches for both genders.
âThis expanded partnership is a natural extension of the values we share,â said Grzegorz Lot, CEO of TAURON Polska Energia. âVolleyball is built on teamwork, cooperation, and the pursuit of common goalsâthe same principles that define our organization. It is one of Polandâs most beloved sports, and we want to remain close to the fans by supporting every major domestic competition.â
According to PLS President Artur Popko, the agreement is another milestone in the leagueâs long-term development strategy.
âWhen we first partnered with TAURON six years ago, we believed we could create a model for Polish sport. Today, that vision has become reality,â he said. âThis agreement is not only a sign of our partnerâs trust, but also confirmation that Polish league volleyball is enjoying the strongest period in its history. Our arenas are packed, TV audiences continue to grow, and our leagues attract many of the worldâs best players. Bringing all of the countryâs major professional competitions under one title sponsor creates a stronger and even more attractive product.â
The announcement comes as TAURON continues to strengthen its presence across Polish sport. In addition to volleyball, the energy company has expanded its investment in ice hockey, holds the naming rights to TAURON Arena KrakĂłw, supports youth sports and community initiatives, and sponsors several professional clubs.
