Alterna SPVB Poitiers finally have a win to celebrate: on Thursday evening, the team from Poitiers travelled to the Narbonne Arena and defeated the Centurions 3-1 (25:16, 25:20, 23:25, 25:14) in the opening match of Round 4 of the Alterna Volstar.

After losing their opening two matches against Cannes and Nice, and then suffering a narrow five-set defeat to Saint-Nazaire in Round 3, Poitiers delivered a much-needed response.
The visitors set the tone from the beginning, dominating the first set 25-16 before extending their advantage with a 25-20 win in the second.
Narbonne managed to keep the contest alive by taking the third set 25-23, but the home side could not build on that momentum. Poitiers regained control immediately and wrapped up the match with an emphatic 25-14 in the fourth, securing their first victory of the 2026/27 campaign.

For Narbonne, the result makes an already challenging start to the season even more complicated. Having opened with a win over Royan, the Centurions have now suffered three consecutive defeats, following their losses to Tourcoing and Plessis-Robinson. The defeat leaves them with two points after four matches, while Poitiers move to five.

MVP Dusan Nikolic led the winners with 20 points to his name through 67% in attack, 2 aces and 2 blocks, while Simon Magnin added 11 through 91% in attack (10/11) and 1 block. Double digit also for Erik Siksna and Tom Picard, who added 13 and 12, respectively.
Poitiers also made tre difference in blocking, scoring as many as 14 points from this element compared to the hosts’ only 3.
Michael Czerwinski was the only player in double digit for Narbonne.

Round 4 will continue tomorrow with other five games.
