After the advance played on Thursday, in which Chaumont recorded third win in as many games on the field of Sète, and other four games played yesterday not without upsets, an interesting Round 3 of 2026/27 Alterna Volstar has been completed today with last two matches.

Saint-Nazaire finally got their season up, coming from behind twice to defeat Poitiers 2-3 (25:18, 18:25, 25:17, 23:25, 13:15). After opening the campaign with straight-set defeats against Paris and Toulouse, Saint-Nazaire showed greater resilience when their season was already in danger of slipping away. Poitiers twice moved ahead, winning the first and third sets, but the visitors refused to surrender: they edged a tense fourth set 25-23 to force a tie-break, then held their nerve in the closing points to secure their first victory of the season.
For Poitiers, the defeat extended a difficult start: after losing in five sets to Cannes and 3-1 to Nice, they once again came close to a positive result without managing to finish the job.
Top scorer Kaleb Jenness led the winners as top scorer with 17 points to his name through 48% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block, while MVP Renan Michelucci added 11 through 45% in attack and 6 blocks.
Erik Siksna lead all scorers charts recording 19 points including 6 blocks for the hosts.

Tourcoing also had to produce a comeback, recovering from two sets down to beat Nice 3-2 (21:25, 20:25, 25:18, 25:21, 15:12).
Nice appeared to be in control after taking the opening two sets, putting the home side under immediate pressure. Tourcoing, however, gradually turned the match around, reducing their errors and winning the third set 25-18 before levelling the contest with a 25-21 fourth-set victory. The tie-break then belonged to the hosts, who completed the turnaround with a 15-12 win. After losing another five-set encounter against Tours in the previous round, Tourcoing had a much better ending this time. Nice, meanwhile, had to settle for one point despite coming within reach of a straight-sets victory.
Venislav Antov led the winners with as many as 29 points to his name through 62% in attack, 2 blocks, 1 ace and MVP honors, while Robbert Andringa added 15.
On the other side of the net, Kévin Kobrine and Fausto Diaz scores 24 and 22 points, respectively, as their team played a great performance from the service line (12 aces to 7), but it wasn’t enough.

The two results brought Round 3 to a close with both matches producing the maximum possible drama.
Saint-Nazaire earned their first two points of the season, while Poitiers collected one more point but remain without a win. Tourcoing added two points to their tally, and Nice took one from a match that had looked firmly in their hands after the first two sets. With the fourth round approaching, the ability to close out tight matches will be an important challenge for all four teams.

Alterna Volstar will continue on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with the advance between Narbonne and Poitiers.
