Austria: Amstetten defeated titleholders Graz in three sets

VCA Amstetten NĂ celebrated their first victory in their sixth match in the Austrian Volley League Top Round on Wednesday evening, by beating defending champions UVC Holding Graz in their Johann-PĂślz-Halle 3-0 (26:24, 25:20, 25:20) to stay in the race for third place behind Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob.
Top scorers today were Milutin Pavicevic (23), Aleksandar Veselinovic and Jakub Czyzowski (11 each) for the winners, and Sergej Drobnic (15), Lorenz RĂśssl (12) and Sebastian Sablatnig (7) for Graz. The Mostviertler now have five points like UVC Weberzeile Ried in the current charts, while Graz is fifth.
On Saturday evening, runners-up Aich/Dob will play their last Top Round game against Ried, while a semi-final ticket will also be awarded this week.
In fact, the first game of the “Best-of-3” series between VBC TLC Weiz and top round winner Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel takes place on Friday evening, with game 2 on Saturday.
