CEV Cup: 16th finals – all results of November 9. Craiova down Fenerbahçe!

Other 11 matches of 16th Finals of 2022/23 CEV Cup were played today.
The day started with an away win of favorite Belgian side Greenyard Maaseik on the field of Croatia’s Mladost Zagreb (23:25, 16:25, 23:25). Athanasios Protopsaltis ended the game as top scorer on the winning side with 18 points to his name.
Romania’s C.S. Arcada Galati down Bulgaria’s Neftohimik Burgas by 3-1 (25:16, 14:26, 25:17, 25:21), just like their compatriots SCM Craiova, who staged a big upset defeating Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe HDI Istanbul (18:25, 27:25, 25:22, 25:23)!
Also another team from Romania celebrated a victory: Dinamo Bucuresti, who needed five sets to win in Germany, on the field of SVG Lüneburg (25:22, 25:23, 19:25, 21:25, 9:15), after a great performance in blocking, with 18 points from this element!
Tie break win (and another remarkable performance in blocking, with 15) also for Switzerland’s Lindaren Volley Amriswil, who down at home Serbia’s Partizan Beograd (25:15, 25:23, 24:26, 17:25, 15:9), and for Turkish powerhouse Arkas Izmir, on the field of Belgium’s Caruur Volley Gent (23:25, 25:21, 23:25, 25:20, 10:15). Mirza Lagumdzija and Efe Mandiraci put down 24 and 23 points, respectively.
No problem for Jihostroj České Budejovice from Czech Republic, who down Croatia’s Mursa Osijek on the road in straight sets (17:25, 15:25, 23:25), and for Turkey’s Galatasaray, who routinely defeat Austrian titleholders Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel with the same result (25:19, 25:17, 25:23).
Close the picture other two straight sets win: Switzerland’s Volley Schönenwerd against Hungary’s Fino Kaposvár (HUN) 3-0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:21), and the one of favorite Calcit Kamnik from Slovenia over The Netherlands’ Lycurgus Groningen (25:15, 25:19, 25:17), in a game lasted only 62 minutes.
