Austria: All results of Round 12 – Waldviertel KO. Hypo Tirol still perfect

The top 4 of Austrian Volley League start the new year successfully.

Absolute leaders Hypo Tirol didn’t show any weaknesses celebrating a clear 3-0 (25:15, 25:18, 25:19) home win against UVC McDonald’s Ried (6th) and, as a result, they remain unbeaten after their twelfth game in the regular season. Ried was only able to fight the rivals only at the very beginning and, after 75 minutes, top scorer Luan Weber and Co. left the court as clear winners and extended the lead in the table to seven points. The winners recovered also Niklas Kronthaler after an ankle injury.
Vice champions SK Zadruga Aich/Dob (3rd) won with the same result on the field of TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien (8th) (25:23, 25:22, 25:17).
UVC Holding Graz (7th) was also victorious away, after beating defending champions Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel (5th) in Zwettl 3-0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:22) too.
VCA Amstetten NÖ (4th) lived up to their role as favorites against last-placed VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt, winning 3-0 (31:29, 25:17, 25:19), while the Styria derby was hard fought between TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg (2nd) and VBC TLC Weiz (9th). In their first game in the renovated Stadtwerke Hartberg-Halle, the hosts twice made a comeback and won the game at the tie-break (21:25, 27:25, 20:25, 25:23, 15:12).
