CEV Cup: Montpellier down Piacenza to take first step towards semifinals!

Quarterfinals of 2022/23 CEV Cup started today with a great performance of France titleholders Montpellier: after lose first set, the Ligue A side, currently only to the eighth place in the competition’s standings, defeated the rivals from Italy BluEnergy Daiko Volley Piacenza by 3-1 (23:25, 25:23, 25:22, 25:20), to take the first step towards semifinals!

Piacenza was slightly better in first set, led by Leal and Romanò, but then, in a very balanced clash, the hosts start to play and were able to led the game, with a very good Théo Faure author of 21 points but, above all, an impressive Marin Dukic, who ended the game with 24 points through an incredible 81% efficiency in attack!
