France: Tourcoing and Narbonne close Round 20 with 3 points

Round 20 of 2022/23 has been closed today with last two games played, bot ended in straight sets, and with both sides that continue to share the same number of point in the standings!

In details, Tourcoing celebrated a clear straight sets win at homw against Paris, partially 25:22, 25:14 and 25:20.
A match in which the hosts basically prevailed in all elements, above all with a very good 66% of team performance in attack (and not by chance with setter Jay Blankenau named MVP) vs. 41% of Paris, and 7 winning blocks to 1. Only in reception the team from country’s capital was slightly better, but this wasn’t enough to stop a rival led in score by brazilian Renan Buiatti, who ended the game as top scorer with 21 points to his name (including 2 winning blocks and an impressive 73% in attack).
Julian Weisigk was the only player on the losing side in double digit with 16 points (1 block, all 3 aces of Paris, and 48% in attack) but, behind him, nothing, as the other most prolific player was Argentine outside hitter Nicolas Mendez who scorer 6 points!

Straight sets home win also for Narbonne, who down last-placed Cambrai without major problems although the heavy absence of Wilner Rivas, still out. Partially it was 25:19, 25:23 and 25:18.

Jordi Ramon ended the game as top scorer with 21 points, including 3 aces, 1 winning block, 68% and MVP award, while Luca Vettori also contributed with 17.

As already mentioned, about the standings, both Tourcoing and Narbonne continue to share the same number of points in the standings, 38, and fifth and sixth places respectively, while Cambrai is in relegation zone, at -5 from second-to-last Plessis Robinson, luckily for them, yesterday defeated in Nice.
