Poland: Aluron back to second place. Ninth win a row for Warszawa!

2 min read

Round 25 of 2022/23 Plusliga, played between Friday and Monday, continued today with other two games.

In the first one, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie won in four sets on the field of Trefl Gdańsk, partially 25:21, 17:25, 23:25 and 14:25, to celebrated the third win in a row counting all competition (including the irrilevant one on Wednesday in Cev Champions League playoffs against fellow countrymen ZAKSA).
After losing first set, the winners had no major problems to take three very important points for the standings, led in score once again by Serb Uros Kovacevic, who ended the game with 21 points (the same number of points of Bartłomiej Bołądź, on the losing side) through 51% in attack and, once again, was named MVP of the game.
Another good news for Aluron is that, with these three points, they surpassed Jastrzębski (who yesterday easily won on the field of Barkom) and rise to the second place in the standings, at -3 from leaders Resovia.

In the second game of the day, the impressive winning streak consisting now in 9 games of Projekt Warszawa continued, as they beat also Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, and 3-1 was the final result, partially 26:24, 25:19, 21:25 and 25:16.
The team from Polish capital now have the same number of points in the standings of ZAKSA, 49.
With a very good performance in attack, four players on the winning side ended in double digit: Kevin Tillie, top scorer with 18 (61% in attack, 1 ace), Artur Szalpuk (16), followed by Linus Weber (14) and MVP Jakub Kowalczyk, who contributed with 12 points, including 3 aces and 3 winning blocks and 75% in attack.
